Yes, completely free. You can create QR codes without signing up. The free tier includes all 18 QR code types, custom designs, basic analytics, and beautiful landing pages. We support the service through non-intrusive ads on free-tier landing pages and our upcoming Pro subscription.
Creating & Customizing QR Codes
Absolutely! You can choose from multiple dot patterns, corner styles, and frames. Customize all colors — pattern, background, corners, and frame. Add your own logo in the center and set custom frame text. The design preview updates in real time as you make changes.
Yes. In the Design step, you can upload your logo (JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP, up to 1MB). It will be placed in the center of your QR code with proper error correction to ensure the code still scans reliably.
You can download your QR code as SVG (vector format, perfect for print at any size — from business cards to billboards) or PNG (raster format, ideal for web and digital use). Both formats are included free.
Yes. QR codes have built-in error correction, which means a portion of the code can be obscured (by a logo, for example) and the code will still scan. Our design tool ensures your customizations stay within safe limits.
Yes. From your dashboard, click Edit on any QR code. You'll be taken through the same wizard where you can modify both the content and the design. The QR code URL stays the same, so anything already printed will still work.
Dynamic QR Codes & Editing
A dynamic QR code points to a short URL on our server, which then redirects to your destination. This means you can change where the QR code points after it's been printed. Static QR codes encode the destination directly and cannot be changed after printing.
Yes! All QR codes on PerfectQRCode are dynamic. You can update the destination URL, edit landing page content, change the design, or even deactivate the code — all without changing the printed QR code.
Yes. From your dashboard, toggle the Active/Inactive switch on any QR code. When inactive, scanning the code will show a "QR code not available" message. You can reactivate it at any time.
The QR code URL will stop working permanently. Scanning it will show a 404 page. This cannot be undone, so make sure you no longer need the code before deleting. We recommend deactivating instead of deleting if you're unsure.
Yes. When creating or editing a QR code, you can set an access code. Visitors must enter this code before viewing the content. This is useful for private events, internal documents, or exclusive offers.
Scan Analytics
We track the number of scans per QR code, daily scan trends over time, browser type (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.), operating system (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, etc.), and device type (Mobile, Tablet, Desktop). All data is displayed in your dashboard with charts and breakdowns.
Yes. From the analytics page of any QR code, click "Export Scans" to download a CSV file with all scan data including timestamps, browser, OS, device type, IP address, and referrer. You can also export a summary of all your QR codes from the QR Codes list.
Currently we collect IP addresses for abuse prevention but do not perform IP geolocation. Geographic tracking is planned for a future update in the Pro plan.
We keep scan data indefinitely for free users. The dashboard charts show the last 30 days by default, but all historical data is preserved and can be exported via CSV.
Account & Management
You can organize QR codes into folders from your dashboard. Select one or more QR codes, then use the "Move to Folder" option to assign them to an existing folder or create a new one. You can also filter your QR code list by folder, type, or sort by name, date, or scan count.
Yes. In the QR Codes list, use the checkbox to select multiple codes. The bulk action bar appears with options to delete selected codes or move them to a folder. You can also use "Select All" to select all codes on the current page.
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password twice to confirm. Passwords must be at least 8 characters.
Account deletion is coming soon. In the meantime, you can contact us at support@perfectqrcode.com to request account deletion. We will remove your account and all associated data.
Landing Pages
When someone scans your QR code, they see a beautifully designed page that displays your content — a contact card, social media links, business info, coupon details, etc. Each of the 18 QR code types has its own custom-designed landing page optimized for mobile viewing.
Free-tier landing pages include a small, non-intrusive ad space. The upcoming Pro plan will remove all ads from your landing pages for a clean, branded experience.
Yes. Each QR code type lets you choose a primary color that applies to the hero section, buttons, and accent elements on the landing page. You can pick from preset color palettes or enter a custom hex color.
Absolutely. All landing pages are mobile-first — designed to look great on smartphones, which is where most QR codes are scanned. They also adapt to tablets and desktops.
Technical & Troubleshooting
Make sure the QR code is printed at a sufficient size (at least 2cm × 2cm). Ensure good contrast between the pattern and background colors — dark patterns on light backgrounds work best. Avoid very bright colors for the pattern (like yellow on white). If you added a logo, make sure it doesn't cover too much of the code.
We recommend a minimum of 2cm × 2cm (about 0.8" × 0.8") for reliable scanning. For scanning from a distance, increase the size proportionally. A general rule: the QR code should be 1/10th of the scanning distance (e.g., 10cm for scanning from 1 meter away).
Yes. QR codes you create on PerfectQRCode are yours to use however you want — on products, marketing materials, business cards, packaging, menus, posters, or anywhere else. No attribution required.
We take security seriously. All connections use HTTPS encryption. Passwords are securely hashed. Uploaded files are validated and served through a secure endpoint. We implement security headers (X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, etc.) and protect against common web vulnerabilities.
An API for programmatic QR code generation is planned for the Pro tier. It will support all 18 QR code types with full customization options. Stay tuned for announcements.
